Healing begins when we feel seen, held, and understood. This is the heart of The Light After Grief.
About
I lost my soulmate, Phil, on July 29, 2024. In the absence of nearby family, I was embraced by earth angels who became my circle of support. My neighbors—now dear friends—Bob and Lori, together with Bob’s friend Scott and many caring locals, carried me through that time with extraordinary kindness.
Bob’s clear communication skills and steady ability to make things happen carried me through Phil’s illness, the hospital, and the sale of our home, while also rallying the support of others when I needed it most. He and his friend Scott, faithfully stepped in week after week—cleaning the backyard, clearing the garage, and organizing garage sales of Phil’s tools at Scott’s yard—lightening my load in countless practical ways.
Lori’s warmth, wisdom, and generosity welcomed me into her family and offered me a true place of belonging. Along with Bob’s strength and tenderness—and the compassion of the community—they became the foundation that held me when I could no longer stand on my ow
The five stages of grief offered a framework. Prayer brought comfort. Yet none of it fully lifted the heaviness that settled on my heart and soul. Grief doesn’t just live in the mind—it touches everything.
Alongside the care I received, I turned to my spirituality and reading books on after-death communication that confirmed what I sensed deep down: the body is temporary, but the soul goes on.
Through sacred moments with Phil in quiet meditation, I’ve learned our bond continues beyond the five senses—love bridges the veil.
Creating The Light After Grief is part of my healing—and part of my promise to Phil. Through this site, my writings, and our ongoing soul connection, I hope to gently support others on this path and share what’s helped me most:
Your loved one isn’t gone.
They’ve just changed form.
And they’re still with you.
Love never dies.
With heart and soul light,
