You are not meant to grieve alone.

In the quiet presence of another, grief becomes something we never have to carry alone.

A grief doula is a compassionate companion who provides emotional, spiritual, and practical support during times of loss. The word doula originally comes from childbirth care—where a doula offers steady, non-medical support through life’s beginning. Today, many doulas also walk with people through life’s endings and losses, extending that same presence to those who grieve.

Unlike therapists or counselors, grief doulas do not diagnose or treat; instead, they walk alongside you, offering presence, ritual, and gentle guidance through the natural process of grief. Many also serve in end-of-life and hospice care, bringing credibility and deep experience in supporting life’s sacred transitions. Whether in person or virtual, their role is to create safe, non-judgmental spaces where sorrow, love, and memory can be honored.

✨ See the Grief Resources section for a list of grief doulas.

Even in the midst of sorrow, there are hands and hearts ready to hold space for your healing.
